Coconuts contain the following vitamins and minerals: iron, sodium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorous, potassium, iodine, vitamins B1, B2, B6, E and folic acid [1 to 3]. Coconut flour are also very rich in fibre , which is good news for our digestive system.
Organic coconut flour has very nutty, aromatic and pleasantly light taste. The flour is white to pale yellow. The flour has an excellent pourable consistency, and is ideal for cooking.
We source our organic coconut products flour from Sri Lanka. Large parts of the region are certified for organic and FAIRTRADE cultivation and are worked by the FAIRTRADE farmers living there. The farmers are members of one of the two Fairtrade groups, SOFA or MOPA. Thanks to cooperation with Fairtrade, the farmers can earn their living in a secure and independent fashion. The Fairtrade bonus helps them to finance projects such as clean drinking water, learning materials for schoolchildren and educational projects.
After harvesting, the coconut is opened, the coconut milk is taken out and the shell removed. The coconut flesh is gently dried. The processing steps are carried out carefully by hand in extremely hygienic conditions. In this way the high quality of the dried organic coconut is guaranteed.
Product purity and Production:
The coconut flour is pressure treated in Austria. During the pressure process, the combination of pressure and time ensures that the product is completely free of pests.
The coconuts gently ground only when it meets our high standards of quality. The last step involves pressurising the coconut flour to reduce its fat content.
