Elderberries are full of vitamin C and B and are also a source of secondary plant substances. These anthocyanins protect the body’s cells against free radicals, helping to slow down the ageing process. Polyphenols can have a positive effect on damaged vessels.
Traditional medicine uses elderberries in a variety of ways; for colds, influenza, disorders of the kidney and bladder and to fortify the heart and circulation. They are also said to inhibit inflammation, alleviate pain and fever .
Our elderberries have a flavour. The berries are dark blue inside and outside and the outer skin is tinged with violet , which is why they are used as a dye. The taste is sourishly with a strong elderberrie aroma. The berries are lightly soft in consistency or a little crunchy.
Origin and Production:
We source our organic elderberries from the EU. They are harvested by hand in remote areas and forests certified for organic cultivation. The berries are carefully cleaned to retain their full aroma and texture. After harvesting, the elderberries are sun-dried and exclusively selected.
