Bran is the husk surrounding the oat grain. Bran is full of vitamins and minerals, is rich in fibre and if consumed regularly can help to maintain normal cholesterol levels in the blood. The substances effecting this are called beta glucans, also helping to slow down the blood sugar rate of increase after eating. This is particularly beneficial in cases of type 2 diabetes.
The fibre contained in the brain increases stool volume [1 and 2].
Our organic oat bran is quite something! Its taste is typical for the variety and aromatic. The bran has a very fine consistency making it ideal for all kinds of dietary choices.
