Eating almonds regularly can result in quite substantial health benefits! Research has shown that the polyunsaturated fatty acids contained in almonds stabilise blood cholesterol levels, reduce blood pressure and inhibit inflammatory reactions.
Further benefits include the high level of B vitamins, vitamin E, magnesium, phosphorous and manganese. Vitamin E is an antioxidant, protecting our bodies from harmful oxidation, free radicals and stabilising the cell membranes. Our blanched Sicilian almonds are remarkable for their size and shape, as well as the very low percentage of broken pieces. Their agreeably soft and nutty flavour is also impressive. The almonds are crunchy and well suited for using directly or combining with other foods. The blanched almonds are pale beige in colour.
Origin and Production:
We source our organic almond exclusively from the company Damiano in Sicily.
We have been cooperating closely with Damiano for a long time and we value the very high quality of each other’s work. Sicilian almond products are a first-rate supplement to our large range of nut products from Uzbekistan, both in taste and quality.
The almonds are from the island of Silicy and are harvested, pitted, blanched and gently dried there. Almond flour is then made from the whole almonds.
The Almonds are pressure treated and controlled in Austria. During the pressure process, the combination of pressure and time ensures that the product is completely free of pests.
