Wild organic Fairtrade apricot grow on wild growing apricot trees. The proof is in the taste! The flavour is much more intensive and strong than that of regular cultivated apricots, they are slightly sour and far more aromatic. The colours range from a rich golden orange to dark brown. They are soft in consistency, but less soft than ordinary apricots.
Origin and Production:
We source our organic Fairtrade apricots exclusively from Uzbekistan/ Samarkand. Large parts of the region are certified for organic and FAIRTRADE products, and are cultivated by the FAIRTRADE farmers living there. The farmers are part of a large Fairtrade community made up of 2 groups, Dustkul Bogi and Turob Bobo. 1,000 farmers and their families belong to the community. By working with Fairtrade, the farmers can provide their families with a secure income and offer their children new opportunities. After harvesting, the apricots are washed, pitted, cut into halves and then gently shock frozen.
In Europe we process the frozen apricots into a concentrate or puree.
Organic ingredients: 100% apricots ° - ° FAIRTRADE certified and grown by Fairtrade producers. Total Fairtrade share: 100%.
