Cocoa beans contain up to 300 different substances.  The most important are B vitamins, minerals such as magnesium and zinc, antioxidants such as polyphenol, fibre and unsaturated fatty acids [1].

Numerous studies have shown that eating cocoa has additional health benefits.

Our organic cocoa powder is slightly bitter, very aromatic and a real taste sensation for cocoa lovers who insist on the best. The powder is fat-reduced, containing only 20-22% fat. Our cocoa powder is a rich brown colour and of a pourable consistency.


Our organic Fairtrade cocoa powder is made of cocoa beans processed by YACAO in the Dominican Republic. YACAO is supplied with its organic Fairtrade cocoa beans by 10 Fairtrade certified small farmers‘groups, organised into the FUNDOPO group. By collaborating with Fairtrade, the farmers can provide their families with a secure income and offer their children new prospects.


Cocoa beans are the seed of the cocoa fruit that are fermented after harvesting. The bitter compounds are lost during fermentation. The beans then undergo a gentle drying process, during which their brown colour and flavour determining polyphenols develop. Cocoa powder is produced by cold pressing the raw, peeled (skinned) cocoa beans. The beans are sorted by hand with the utmost care several times before pressing. The processing steps are carried out carefully by hand in extremely hygienic conditions.
