The golden berry (physalis peruviana) is known under many names: Peruvian ground cherry, Cape gooseberry, Inca berry. It originates from the highland plateaus of South America. It reached the Cape of Good Hope over 200 years ago, thus the name Cape gooseberry. The golden berry is naturally protected by a light papery husk. This encloses a juicy, yellowish fruit containing small, soft seeds. Our world-first organic Fairtrade Physalis are from the South of Colombia. arvested by hand and gently dried, our golden berries are the perfect addition to yoghurts, mueslis, dried fruit mixtures and are a great baking ingredient.
