Garlic’s aroma is derived from the sulphurous substances it contains. These compounds are able to positively affect cancer therapy. Viruses, bacteria and fungi are repelled by sulphurous compounds, rendering garlic a natural antibiotic. Garlic sometimes keeps people apart, and it can help to ward off parasites.
Garlic is rich in selenium and is antibacterial. Studies carried out on garlic concluded that it can lower blood fat levels and protect the body’s blood vessels. In a general sense, garlic lowers cholesterol levels, improving health overall .
Garlic has a high antioxidant capacity of 6665 µmol TE (ORAC value = Oxygen Radical Absorption Capacity). By consuming foods rich in antioxidants, the body’s defence mechanisms are fortified, counteracting excess production of free radicals. A daily ORAC requirement of 5000 to 7000 is recommended .
Our organic Fairtrade garlic granules are very aromatic with a strong garlic smell. This intensive, very natural taste is only possible because our garlic is gently sundried and gently produced from pre-sorted whole garlic with the greatest care. Our garlic is completely natural and 100% pure and ideal for processing.
Origin and Production:
We source our organic fairtrade garlic exclusively from Uzbekistan / Samarkand. Large parts of the region are certified for organic and FAIRTRADE products, and are cultivated by the FAIRTRADE farmers living there. The farmers are part of a large Fairtrade community made up of 3 groups, Dustkul Bogi, Turkiston Gulba and Turob Bobo. 1,000 farmers and their families belong to the community. By working with Fairtrade, the farmers can provide their families with a secure income and offer their children new opportunities.
After being harvested by hand, the heads of garlic are washed, the skin removed and the individual cloves are removed, cut into pieces and then gently dried using solar energy. The drying process is very eco-friendly, using a solar drying method that has a minimal impact on the product.
The garlic granuless are pressure treated and controlled in Austria. During the pressure process, the combination of pressure and time ensures that the product is completely free of pests.
