Our whole organic apricots stuffed with a sweet apricot kernel are perfect as a varied vegetarian or vegan raw food snack, for sports, while hiking, rowing and cycling or just for snacking in between. In a small cut, the apricots can also be ideally used in muesli, nut and fruit bars, cakes and fruit breads. In hearty dishes they give a fruity note.

Our wild organic Fairtrade apricots come from wild apricot trees, something you can taste immediately. The taste is much more intense and powerful, slightly acidic and much more aromatic than regular dried organic apricots. The colors vary between a strong golden orange and dark brown. The consistency is still soft, but sometimes already firm and hard, but in any case less soft than ordinary apricots.
So something special, our organic apricots are filled manually with delicious peeled sweet apricot kernels. An absolute unique delicacy for the palate, a specialty that was previously reserved only for the noble rulers!
Origin and manufacture:
We source our wild organic Fairtrade apricots exclusively from Uzbekistan. They mature on wild trees in the picturesque remote mountain regions around Samarkand. The area is certified organic and FAIRTRADE and is managed by the FAIRTRADE farmers living there. The farmers belong to a large Fairtrade community, which consists of two groups, Dustkul Bogi and Turob Bobo. They include around 1000 individual farmers, including their families. Thanks to the collaboration with Fairtrade, farmers can offer their families a secure income and their children a new perspective.
After harvesting, the apricots are washed, pitted and then gently dried using the sun. Shortly before drying ends, the apricots are filled manually with peeled apricot kernels. The drying process used is a very environmentally friendly solar drying method that is extremely gentle on the product.
In Austria, wild apricots filled with apricot kernels are pressure-treated. When pressure is released, the interplay of pressure and time ensures absolute freedom from pests.
Dried apricots contain a very high antioxidative capacity of 3234 µmol TE (ORAC value = Oxygen Radical Absorption Capacity).
By ingesting foods rich in antioxidants, the body's defense mechanism can be strengthened and thus an overproduction of free radicals can be balanced. An ORAC daily requirement between 5000 and 7000 is recommended .
The same nutrients are contained in dried apricots as in fresh apricots, only in an additional concentrated form. Apricots are characterized by an interesting content of vitamin C and antioxidants. They contain the highest proportion of provitamin A of all fruit types [1 and 2]. Therefore, dried fruits are essential for a balanced diet.
